NEW OPEN AIR RETAIL CENTER STONECREEK VILLAGE OPENS FIRST PHASE ON FRIDAY, JUNE 6
Mayor Edward Chavez, New Stores, Live Music, Food Sampling, Gift Card Giveaways and More
STOCKTON, Calif. (May 29, 2008) – Stockton-based Stone Bros. & Associates will celebrate the first phase grand opening of Stonecreek Village, Stockton’s first upscale lifestyle center, on Friday, June 6, with a full day of festivities beginning at 9 a.m. This special day will be packed with live music, food sampling, $10,000 in gift card giveaways and more. Stonecreek Village puts Stockton on the map with several retail “firsts” for the area including the first Peet’s Coffee & Tea, AnnTaylor LOFT, Coldwater Creek, Eddie Bauer, J. Jill and more bringing quality shopping and dining options to the San Joaquin region.
“National retailers are realizing how viable the Stockton market is and Stonecreek Village is bringing much needed shopping options to a historically under-retailed city,” said Stockton Mayor Edward Chavez. “A selection of great shopping and dining is now available in the heart of the city so locals can stay in Stockton to shop instead of traveling to Sacramento or San Francisco.”
Grand opening festivities will begin at 9 a.m. with an eye-opening “Coffee Break.” The first 500 adults will receive a complimentary coffee from Peet’s Coffee & Tea, smoothie from Juice It Up!, pastry from Boudin SF, commemorative Stonecreek Village coffee mug, special store offers, a Stonecreek retailer gift card valued from $5 to $500 and a chance to win a REI Outdoor Adventure Package. At 9:30 a.m., Stockton Mayor Edward Chavez will commemorate the first phase grand opening with a special garland cutting ceremony. Once the new stores open their doors at 10 a.m., shoppers will enjoy musical entertainment, food samplings, train rides for the children and more.
Located at the corner of Pacific Avenue and West Robinhood Drive, the brand new 15-acre shopping center will welcome more than a dozen new retail shops and restaurants during its first phase grand opening event, many of them retail “firsts” for Stockton. Joining BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse will be additional food options including fresh roasted coffees, hand-selected teas and tasty pastries at Stockton’s first-ever Peet’s Coffee & Tea, as well as the first Juice It Up! with its menu of fruit smoothies, fresh juices, healthy snacks and more.
In addition to the new restaurants, several new retailers are opening including:
AnnTaylor LOFT offers the latest trends in apparel and accessories for women. From footwear and handbags to scarves and hats, shoppers can turn to AnnTaylor LOFT for all their fashion needs at this Stockton “first.”
Coldwater Creek is the one-stop shopping experience for women and a “first” to the Stockton market. This unique collection offers clothing for all sizes in misses, petites and plus sizes, as well as accessories, jewelry, shoes, sportswear, art and gifts.
Eddie Bauer is a specialty retailer, new to Stockton, selling high quality casual sportswear and accessories for the modern outdoor lifestyle.
J. Jill opens its first store in Stockton with nature-inspired clothing designs for the sophisticated woman, as well as a scenic store setting adorned in warm colors, wood textures and soft lighting.
Jos. A. Bank is a stylish men’s retailer, new to Stockton, offering an extensive selection of modern styles and trends.
Gymboree brings its popular children’s line to Stonecreek Village, offering stylish clothing and accessories for newborns, infants and children.
Talbot’s is a leading retailer in classic clothing for misses, petites and women. From handbags to headwear, Talbot’s offers head to toe apparel for work, as well as weekend casual.
Grand opening festivities will continue throughout the weekend with live music, food sampling from soon-to-open Stonecreek Village restaurants, store giveaways and more. More stores and eateries will open early this summer in phase two including Lane Bryant, Cacique, Fuzio Universal Pasta, Nubi Yogurt and Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill.
“As local residents, we are committed to the success of this region and Stonecreek Village brings much-needed retail and dining ‘firsts’ to Stockton,” said Stone Bros. and Associates Co-managing Director Jay Allen. “We are pleased to announce that to date, we are 75 percent leased and committed and are excited for what is in store this summer as more new stores and restaurants open.”
Stonecreek Village is Stockton’s first upscale lifestyle center featuring retail, restaurant and office space offerings designed to serve as a gathering place for Stockton residents and visitors. Once complete, the new picturesque open air village will be home to nearly 20 shops, restaurants and specialty stores including Ann Taylor LOFT, Aveda Lifestyle Salon, Eddie Bauer, Gymboree, Talbot’s, Lane Bryant, Cacique, Coldwater Creek, J. Jill, Jos. A. Bank, REI, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, Boudin SF, Fuzio Universal Pasta, Juice it Up!, Mimi’s Café (opening 2009) , Nubi Yogurt, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill and Hometown Buffet.
